However, the Swiss re-grouped in the second set. Pushing the Brit all the way, it looked like a tiebreak would ensue. Fortunately, Boulter managed to get the break of serve right at the end of the set to take the win 6-2, 7-5.

In the second round Boulter was against Daniela Vismane. The Latvian was outclassed in the first set, as Boulter dominated and didn’t lose a game. The quarter-final saw Boulter against the second seed Martina Trevisan. The Italian got the better start and broke the serve of the Brit to take the lead. However, the Brit re-grouped in the second set. Boulter dominated and levelled up the match. In the final set the sixth seed again dominated and booked a spot in the semi-final 4-6, 6-2, 6-1.

In the semi-final the Brit was against Tatjana Maria. The German was outplayed by Boulter in the first set, as the Brit broke more or less at will and took the lead. Maria tried to fight back in the second set, playing better and staying with Boulter. The Brit secured the break of serve needed and moved into the final 6-4, 6-2.

The final saw Boulter against eighth seed Anna Blinkova. The Russian stayed toe to toe with the Brit and a tiebreak ensued. In the breaker Boulter dominated and took the lead. The second set was just as close, with Boulter and Blinkova locked in another tiebreak. The Russian edged the breaker and levelled up the match.
