Alfie Hewett & Gordon Reid entered the Rothsay International event and were looking to claim their 50th doubles title together. The Brits faced Andrew Penney & Geoffrey Jasiak as their first match. Hewett & Reid dominated from the outset. The Brits only lost one game as they moved into the final 6-0, 6-1.

Their opponents in the final were Dahnon Ward & Ben Bartram. Hewett & Reid were unstoppable, they dominated again from the off. Hewett & Reid were in control all match and didn’t drop a single game. Hewett & Reid lifted their 50th doubles title together at a stroll 6-0, 6-0.

In the singles Hewett was the top seed. In the first match he was against his doubles partner Reid. Hewett dominated both sets. Although Reid was able to get some games on the board, the match was only ever going one way. The top seed eased through to the next round 6-2, 6-1.

The semi-final pitched the top seed against Bartram. Hewett again attacked from the off, with Bartram struggling with the pace. Hewett strolled through the match and into the final in straight sets, without dropping a game. It was almost like a practice for Hewett as he moved through 6-0, 6-0.

In the final Hewett was against second seed Gustavo Fernandez. The Argentine proved a much trickier opponent and made the top seed work hard. The first set was incredibly close as neither found a way through. Eventually, a tiebreak ensued, which the Brit edged and took the lead. This gave Hewett some momentum, as in the second set, the Brit managed to break the serve of Fernandez. The Argentine tried but could not break back. Hewett took the title in straight sets 7-6(5), 6-3.
