EASTBOURNE, UK – Neal Skupski and Michael Venus backed up the Queens title by claiming the ATP 250 doubles title in Eastbourne. The final warm up event before Wimbledon proved good for the Brit/Kiwi pair.

Neal Skupski & Michael Venus were looking to back up their title at Queens. In the final grass court event in the UK before Wimbledon the pair entered Eastbourne. The Brit/Kiwi were the fourth seeds. In the first round Skupski & Venus were against Marcelo Melo & Rafael Matos. The first set was very close as neither pair gave an inch and it went to a tiebreak. In the breaker, the fourth seeds eased through to take the lead. The second set saw the seeds manage to break serve and move into the next round 7-6(3), 6-4.
The quarter-final saw Skupski & Venus against Mariano Navone & Sebastian Baez. The Argentines found the seeds too strong in the first set. The Brit/Kiwi broke early and move ahead. The second set was a little bit closer. The Argentines managed to stay with the seeds at the start. Eventually, Skupski & Venus broke serve and moved into the next round 6-3, 6-4.
In the semi-final Skupski & Venus were against the second seeds Marcelo Arevalo & Mate Pavic. The first set was very close, as both teams went toe to toe and forced a tiebreak. The second seeds edged through the breaker and took the lead. The second set saw the Brit/Kiwi dominate Arevalo & Pavic to level the match. In the ensuing match tiebreak, the fourth seeds edged through and into the final 6-7(5), 6-2, 10-8.
The final saw Skupski & Venus against the third seeds John Peers & Matthew Ebden. The first set saw the Australians surprise the Brit/Kiwi and break serve to take the lead. The second set saw both pairs go toe to toe forcing a tiebreak. In the breaker, Skupski & Venus dominated and levelled up the match. The match tiebreak was very close. Eventually, the fourth seeds edged through and lifted their second grass court doubles title together 4-6, 7-6(2), 11-9.

Olivia Nicholls with Diane Parry were defeated by Anna Danilina & Xu Yifan in the quarter-final in Bad Homburg 7-6(4), 7-5.
Max Benaim with Parth Aggarwal were defeated by Ishaque Eqbal & Kris van Wyk in the first round in Hillcrest 6-7(3), 6-1, 10-3.
