MIAMI, USA – Billy Harris earned his place in a second career Masters 1000 event and will now face wildcard Eliot Spizzirri in his opening round match.

Harris will look to take advantage of his superior serving statistics as the Brit targets a rise up the rankings, even regaining his place in the world’s top 100, after Miami has finished.

 

 

Playing Styles and Prediction

Spizzirri has continued his rise up the rankings this year having won the Challenger event in San Diego. The American has gained some good wins against players that are ranked around him but now Spizzirri has to show he is capable of taking the next step as he targets consistency over the coming months.

Harris will aim to be aggressive on serve as he will use the backhand to force the American behind the baseline. Meanwhile Spizzirri will aim to take the match to Harris and will need to be efficient on return if he wants to win this match. This should be an entertaining contest between two players who are desperate for wins although Harris’ experience should see him advance to the second round.

Prediction: Harris in three sets.
