Playing styles and prediction

Tien has had an incredible start to the season which has seen his ranking propel inside the world’s top 100. The qualifier’s year was highlighted by beating Daniil Medvedev on his way to the fourth round at the Australian Open. Now the American will hope to continue his red-hot form as he strives for bigger things this season.

Norrie will look to be aggressive on serve and take the ball on the rise, rushing Tien’s baseline game. Meanwhile the American will look to use his athleticism and movement across the baseline in order to neutralise Norrie’s attacking play and expose space on the court to hit into. This will be a tough match for Norrie but he should have enough quality and variety to catch the American off guard.

Prediction: Norrie in three sets.
