Playing Styles & Prediction

Raducanu was very briefly caught napping as Sawangkaew broke early, but Raducanu worked her way back into the match and eventually used her experience to ease into the second round. It was not as easy at all for Potapova, who had to fight back from a set and 5-1 down to battle into the second round.

Both have struggled to put together consistent wins, so despite the gap in the rankings, this would appear to be a lot closer on paper. Both got to third rounds in Slams, so it would not be a stretch to see this go the distance.

Prediction: Raducanu in three sets.
