Playing styles and prediction

It was an incredible year for Tien as he rose from outside the world’s top 450 to inside the world’s top 120 with some aggressive yet proactive tennis. The American rising star ended his year by reaching the final at the Next Gen Finals in Saudi Arabia as he aims to use that as momentum heading into the new season.

Norrie’s consistency will look to frustrate Tien throughout the contest as he aims to be more aggressive on his first serve. Meanwhile Tien’s aggressiveness on serve will hope to be rewarding for the American as he looks to test Norrie’s defensive skills. It’s hard to grasp what version of Norrie turns up but this match could be quite a gritty and hard-fought contest which favours the Brit in what will be a nervy affair.

Prediction: Norrie in three sets. Β Β Β Β
