WTA: Watson seeded 4th in Memphis, Robson wildcard in Dubai

British No. 1, Heather Watson plays in the US National Indoor Championships in Memphis, seeded 4th.

Her first round will be against Kazakhstan’s Galina Voskoboeva in the WTA International tier event.

Voskoboeva is currently ranked 109, and the pair have never played against each other.

Watson seemed to take some time to settle into her rhythm, over the Fed Cup matches, and will hope to get off to a more solid start.

Meanwhile, over in Dubai, Laura Robson has a wildcard into the main draw of the WTA Premier event.

She will face another wildcard, Yulia Putintseva, also from Kazakhstan.

Putintseva is ranked 97 in the world, and they have never played each other on the tour.

World no. 3 Agnieszka Radwanska awaits the winner of this round.
