[1] Caroline Garcia

Garcia has really impressed with her continued steady form this year. While she might not have been as successful this time around at Roland Garros, her confidence has been growing visibly and she really has that self-belief that was missing just a few years ago.

  • R1: Su-Wei Hsieh
  • R2: Sorana Cirstea
  • QF: Aryna Sabalenka [8]

Making a change to her schedule from rainy old England, Kerber is heading for sunnier climes. While she may feel still a little frustrated with her form, she has had a pretty stellar year in comparison to her fall from grace after winning two Slams and gaining the World No. 1 spot. Clay was never her thing, so we are now in a part of the season that should really suit her.

Kerber’s Path to the Final (Ranking/Seeding)

  • R1: Alison Riske [Q]
  • R2: Polona Hercog
  • QF: Carla Suarez Navaro [5]
  • SF: Anastasija Sevastova [3]
  • F: Caroline Garcia [1]

The defending champion returns having made the final in the first year, and picked up the hardware second time around, but it has rarely translated to success at Wimbledon which has looked a difficulty surface for the Latvian to master.

Sevastova’s Path to the Final (Ranking/Seeding)

  • R1: Svetlana Kuznetsova [WC]
  • R2: Aliaksandra Sasnovich
  • QF: Danielle Collins [6]
  • SF: Angelique Kerber [2]
  • F: Caroline Garcia [1]

[4] Anett Kontaveit

When the Estonian is on, she can be a world beater as she proved in Roland Garros as she ousted Petra Kvitova who was on a staggering 13-match winning streak, but she was bossed out of the tournament by event. Despite winning the Den Bosch title last year, she was bounced out early and will be in need of some form on the green stuff.

Kontaveit’s Path to the Final (Ranking/Seeding)

  • R1: Tatjana Maria
  • R2: Carina Witthoeft
  • QF: Lucie Safarova [7]
  • SF: Caroline Garcia [1]
  • F: Angelique Kerber [2]
The Mallorca Open takes place between 18-24 June (BST -1 hour)
