[1] Diego Schwartzman

Top seed Schwartzman will be looking for his first win on grass… ever! He comes into the tournament with a 0-6 record, and will be carrying one of the most bizarre fields with the inclusion of two three-time slam champions Stan Wawrinka and Andy Murray both returning from injury.

Schwartzman’s Path to the Final (Ranking/Seeding)

  • R1: Bye
  • R2: Lukas Lacko
  • QF: Marton Fucsovics
  • SF: Marco Cecchinato [4]
  • F: Kyle Edmund [2]

The No. 2 seed has a far better advantage with having won at Eastbourne back when he was a teenager, and causing ripples of interest with his big serve and forehand combo. He had a tough draw to meet Nick Kyrgios in the second round of Queen’s and ironically (based on ranking anyway) he could meet Murray (or Wawrinka) in the second round.

Edmund’s Path to the Final (Ranking/Seeding)

  • R1: Bye
  • R2: Andy Murray
  • QF: David Ferrer [6]
  • SF: Denis Shapovalov [3]
  • F: Diego Schwartzman [1]

[3] Denis Shapovalov

After a bit of an inspired run last year in Queen’s Club coming through qualifying and pocing up a first round win over Kyle Edmund, it has not been quite as productive a surface as you might imagine for the flashy Canadian. So far he is searching for his first wins on the surface this season.

Shapovalov’s Path to the Final (Ranking/Seeding)

  • R1: BYE
  • R2: Jared Donaldson
  • QF: Steve Johnson [7]
  • SF: Kyle Edmund [2]
  • F: Diego Schwartzman [1]

[4] Marco Cecchinato

The Italian who ousted Novak Djokovic at Roland Garros has previously only played one math on grass, losing to Kei Nishikori at Wimbledon in the first round last year. His section of the draw will probably open up.

Cecchinato’s Path to the Final (Ranking/Seeding)

  • R1: Bye
  • R2: Andreas Seppi
  • QF: Leonardo Mayer [5]
  • SF: Diego Schwartzman [1]
  • F: Kyle Edmund [2]
The Nature Valley International takes place between 24 -30 June
