Playing Styles & Prediction
It took Kenin until May to win back-to-back matches in Rome and has only been able to repeat the feat twice since – at Roland Garros and this week in Tokyo. But she can take confidence by the fact she defeated the in-form Daria Kasatkina, who won in Ningo last week.
Boulter is picking up pace with the end of the season in sight, and was very impressive against Bianca Andreescu, allowing the former US Open champion just three games in total. She will need to play foot-forward tennis against Kenin, who will not miss any opportunities to be fist-pumping in Boulter grill.
Boulter can also be feisty and is best placed to sneak a win here.
