It has been a bit of a tricky year for Daria Kasatkina, as her form between the Middle East swing and the start of the clay saw her bounce out of seven tournaments without back-to-back wins. She did reach the fourth round of Roland Garros, but we now move onto the grass, which can suit her game.

There are more firsts for Sonay Kartal. You could argue that she too has struggled since reaching the fourth round of Indian Wells as a lucky loser. Now ranked 50th in the world, she can look forward to enthusiastic support from the home crowds, but this is a tough match up to start with.

Prediction: Kasatkina in three sets.

Amanda Anisimova had a good run on the clay this year, but grass is a different beast for the American. She has gone as far as the quarter-final at Wimbledon in 2022 but since then with injuries in 2023 and not able to get past qualifying at all in 2024.

Burrage has spent her entire career battling injuries, but has had success on the green stuff, but comes in after another injury hiatus and has yet to win main draw back to back matches in 2025.

Prediction: Anisimova in three sets.
