Britain’s Harriet Dart claimed a solid win and a bit of revenge over Nuria Parrizas—Diaz to claim her second win over the Spaniard. From the outset, Dart piled the pressure on bringing up four break points in the opening came, before breaking to love the next time around. Dart broke again but found herself immediately broken back, before regaining her advantage. Three set points secured the lead.

Parrizas-Diaz started smartly with a break but was pegged back immediately by Dart until the pair were locked in a flurry of breaks. Dart came out on top of a round of five, before taking her first match point, to earn a first-time encounter with France’s Alize Cornet.

Playing Styles & Prediction

In a first-time meeting between two feisty players on tour, Cornet has shown some solid form over the year, as she approaches the end of her career. The Cornet backhand is her primary weapon, and her movement makes Cornet a real wall for Dart to hit through.

Dart will bring depth, force and precision but will be made to run all the live-long day and could just find herself pushed to the limit by experience.

Prediction: Cornet in three sets.
