Harriet Dart [Q] def. Elisabetta Cocciaretto 5-7 7-5 6-3
Harriet Dart had to dig deep to come back from a set down, beating fifth seed Elisabetta Cocciaretto to book a quarter-final encounter with Nuria Parrizas Diaz. Although the Italian was the first to break, Dart came right back at her, and had three set points to take a lead.
However, not able to convert, Dart seemed to lose focus, broken straight back by Cocciaretto, who went on to take her first set point for the lead. Dart found herself swiftly 0-3 down at the start of the second set, and broke back after the first change over, and stayed with the Italian to gradually work her way back into the match.
In the decider, Dart was the first to break, but frustration was not far behind as she was broken back, but this time, she found a way to regain the advantage, hanging on to take the win.

Playing Styles & Prediction
Dart has already faced Parrizas Diaz this year, in her run to the Canberra final, where she lost to the Spaniard in straight sets. All of their previous encounters have gone to straight sets.
Both had to battle their way into the quarter-final, and Dart in particular had to contend with her own frustration as she came back from a set and a break down. The only factor to consider is if she is feeling fatigued, as she also had a lengthy medical time-out in her last round.
This might be the first occasion the match goes the distance, especially with Parrizas Diaz defending quarter-final points from last year.
Prediction: Dart in three sets.
