Although Jodie Burrage has successfully lifted herself up in the rankings, Ankita Raina has won just a couple more matches on the hard courts over 2023 and is just a little ahead of Burrage in the stats.
That being said, the pair met this year in Warsaw, with Burrage edging Raina in three sets.
Overall they have had similar years – both have a smattering of ITF level tournaments, as well as tour events, but for Burrage, her breakthrough was on the grass with a run to the Nottingham final. Burrage comes in with a little confidence having made the quarter-final in thw WTA 125 tournament in Rouen.
She might have slipped a little in the rankings from a previous high of 85, but there are chances for Burrage to put herself in the best position to make the main draws of the season openers net year with a strong finish to the season.
