CLUJ-NAPOCA, ROMANIA – Emma Raducanu advanced to the quarter-finals with a solid win over Ana Bogdan, and faces Marta Kostyuk next.

British No. 1 Emma Raducanu put in a solid performance to claim her second WTA Tour-level win over Romania’s Ana Bogdan. Raducanu served solidly and stepped up her aggressive game, covering the court effectively throughout. She kept her nerve in shaking off three break point against her at the start and broke Bogdan just one in the first set.
The Romanian fought back from a break down at the start of the second set, before Raducanu broke once more for a 4-3 lead, and held the advantage to the end for a straight sets win.
As reported in WTATennis.com, Raducanu said after the match: “It’s definitely taking me some time to find my feet still. I’m just taking some learnings from every match that I play. I don’t think I’m the finished product yet.

Kostyuk has just been a little sharper in her two indoor matches to date, much more effective in attacking the first serves of her opponents and forcing them to work harder in holding their serves. Raducanu has been more effective at fending off break points on her own serve so far.
Playing Styles & Prediction
Both players bring an aggressive style of play to the court with piercing ground-strokes and great court coverage – so expect this ti be another game that batters the fluff off the covers. Raducanu must keep her problem-solving head on, as Kostyuk brings a lot more experience to the table in their first encounter, but the Brit’s confidence is growing – from the struggles in her first event at Indian wells, to fighting back in her opening round here at the Transylvania Open.
