Harriet Dart arrives off the back of her best WTA Tour level run, reaching the quarter-final for the first time, and having never advanced past the first round in Birmingham, she should have enough confidence to advance here.

She had more luck than her opponent Camila Osorio, who was bounced out of the first round, but enjoyed a solid run from qualifying to the third round of Wimbledon last year in what was her first season on grass.

Prediction: Dart in three sets.

Katie Boulter made her long awaited from injury and was rewarded with two solid and tough wins in qualifying and a first-round win where she had to come back from a set down. But she will face Dart’s conqueror from Nottingham in seventh seed Alison Riske, who is handy on grass, and lost out in the Nottingham final.

Riske in form is a tough prospect, even with a home crowd on your side, but it will be another chance for Boulter to get some grass under her feet.

Prediction: Riske in straight sets.
