LONDON, ENGLAND – After Sonay Kartal and Cameron Norrie reached the second week of Wimbledon, it’s now time to assess how the grass court season fared for the 39 Brits in action.

The highlight of the grass court season were the runs of Sonay Kartal and Cameron Norrie. An incredible run from Kartal meant that she reached the second week of a Grand Slam for the first time in her career as she continues her surge up the rankings. Meanwhile, Norrie’s rejuvenation continued as he returned to the Wimbledon quarter-finals. There was also a Queen’s Club semi-final for Jack Draper while Jacob Fearnley reached his first ATP quarter-final at the event. There was also the unforgettable event of the WTA returning to Queen’s Club for the first time in 50 years as well as some positive upsets from Brits over the grass court season. Now it’s time to assess how all 39 Brits fared throughout the grass court season and where they are heading into the second half of the season.
Men’s Singles
Jack Draper [4]
It was a mixed grass court season for Draper who battled through illness to reach the semi-finals at Queen’s Club. However, the Brit’s second round curse continued with defeat to former finalist Marin Cilic as he now has plenty of things to work on with the British number one having to defend semi-final points at the US Open.

A first ATP quarter-final for Fearnley at Queen’s Club saw him break new ground in his career. However a first round defeat at Wimbledon will sting as he will hope he can finish the season strongly with minimum ranking points to defend for the rest of the season.

Cameron Norrie
A rejuvenated Norrie continued to show impressive form as he reached his second career quarter-final at Wimbledon this year. Norrie has reclaimed his British number two ranking on his way to returning to the world’s top 50 and will hope to carry this form into the US hard court season where he has had success in the past.

A quarter-final in Eastbourne gave Billy Harris the platform to win his first ever match at Wimbledon this year. However, Harris has fallen down the rankings and will hope to reclaim his place around the world’s top 100 over the next few months.
