Billy Harris [WC] v Jaume Munar | H2H: First Meeting |
Wimbledon 2024 | London, England |
Grass (O) | Prize Money: £60,000 |
First on Court 15 (11:00 BST) | BBC Sport |
An incredible summer so far for Billy Harris sees the Brit edging towards a place in the world’s top 100. Firstly a quarter-final appearance at Queen’s Club which was followed by a semi-final appearance at Eastbourne. The Brit is taking his new-found success and all that goes with it in his stride as he will now hope he can complete his dream summer by winning a match at Wimbledon on his debut.
First up for Harris is Jaume Munar who despite his clay court reputation has had some success on grass against top players. The Spaniard has been in inconsistent form this season as he has failed to capitalise on his run to the final at the Aix en Provence Challenger. Now Munar will aim to rebuild confidence as he looks to frustrate his opponents with his brutal style of play.
Harris will maintain his aggression on serve as he looks to use the forehand to open up the space on the court. Meanwhile, Munar will look to extend the rallies by using depth and variety. The best of five set element could be the only thing that stops Harris although against Munar that’s quite a big obstacle against a player that thrives in five set matches.
Prediction: Harris in four sets.
Paul Jubb [WC] v Thiago Seyboth Wild | H2H & Match Fundamentals
Paul Jubb [WC] v Thiago Seyboth Wild | H2H: First Meeting |

Paul Jubb is also in sensational form as the Brit reached his maiden ATP semi-final in Mallorca. The run in Spain saw him cruise through qualifying and the first two rounds before securing his first top 20 win against Ben Shelton. The win will give Jubb a ton of confidence as he aims to continue his efficient serving in order to secure a first Wimbledon victory.
First up for Jubb is Brazilian Thiago Seyboth Wild who thrives more on clay courts than he does on grass. However even on clay, Seyboth Wild lacked that quality to really go deep in any tournaments as the world number 74 is low on confidence. The 24 year-old is known for producing big wins when it matters most and will look to do the same as he is making his Wimbledon debut.
Jubb will aim for a high first serve percentage as he will rush the backhand of Seyboth Wild, creating unforced errors from the Brazilian. Meanwhile, Seyboth Wild will look for consistency on serve as he will need to be smart on return in order to lengthen the rallies. This will be a tough match for Jubb but this is more than winnable given his form in Mallorca and Seyboth Wild’s lack of experience on the surface.
Prediction: Jubb in four sets.
Henry Searle [WC] v Marcos Giron | H2H & Match Fundamentals
Henry Searle [WC] v Marcos Giron | H2H: First Meeting |
Wimbledon 2024 | London, England |
Grass (O) | Prize Money: £60,000 |

Normally the Juniors champion the previous year would receive a qualifying wildcard for Wimbledon a year later but that’s not Henry Searle’s style. The Juniors champion’s wildcard got upgraded to a main draw one and so far that has been justified with some encouraging performances at Nottingham and Eastbourne. Those experiences will come in useful for Searle who will now make his main draw at Wimbledon as he looks to soak up the atmosphere and expectation.
Searle will have a tricky opening round match against Marcos Giron who has a solid yet powerful game that translates well onto the grass. The world number 46 enters Wimbledon in a little bit of form having beaten Andrey Rublev and Matteo Berrettini in Halle. These results seem to have lifted Giron’s confidence with the 30 year-old seeking to reach the second round for a fourth consecutive year.
Searle will aim to serve big in order to neutralize Giron’s returning game with approaches to the net being key to the American’s gameplan. Meanwhile Giron will aim to dictate the baseline rallies as he will make this a physical contest. Searle will get off to a good start but the Brit doesn’t have the physicality to win this kind of match just yet.
Prediction: Giron in five sets.

Jan Choinski [WC] v Luciano Darderi | H2H & Match Fundamentals
Jan Choinski [WC] v Luciano Darderi | H2H: First Meeting |
Wimbledon 2024 | London, England |
Grass (O) | Prize Money: £60,000 |
First on Court 17 (11:00 BST) | BBC Sport |
After winning his first match at Wimbledon last year, Jan Choinski has continued to gain experiences on the ATP tour. The Brit qualified for the ATP 250 event in Estoril where he reached the second round and is continuing to build his ranking up. When it matters most though, Choinski hasn’t quite had the results needed to fulfil his potential and will aim to use this opportunity to build gradual confidence.
First up for Choinski is Italian Luciano Darderi who has built up consistent form on both Challenger and tour level to be inside the world’s top 40. The 22 year-old has a talented and dynamic game but lacks experience on grass. Darderi will continue to work hard on his game as he has the potential and quality to be seeded for the US Open if he continues to work hard over the next couple of months.
Choinski will use his serve and forehand to dictate play from the baseline as he will look to rush Darderi. Meanwhile the Italian will use a mixture of power and depth to test Choinski’s consistency. If this match was last year then Choinski may win this match but a lack of recent confidence suggests that Darderi may have too much quality in this contest.
Prediction: Darderi in four sets.
Jacob Fearnley [WC] v Alejandro Moro Canas [Q] | H2H & Match Fundamentals
Jacob Fearnley [WC] v Alejandro Moro Canas [Q] | H2H: First Meeting |
Wimbledon 2024 | London, England |
Grass (O) | Prize Money: £60,000 |
Second on Court Eight (12:30 BST) | BBC Sport |
It’s been an incredible last year for Jacob Fearnley who has grinded out titles on the ITF tour and it has now paid off. The 22 year-old won the Nottingham Challenger as a qualifier to secure his main draw debut at Wimbledon as he has well and truly earned his place at SW19. Fearnley will look to bring his confident yet attacking style of play as he will soak in this opportunity of a lifetime.
First up for Fearnley is Spanish qualifier Alejandro Moro Canas. The 23 year-old beat some talented players to qualify for the main draw at Wimbledon as he has had a consistent last couple of months. A title at the Rome Challenger sparked Moro Canas’ revival as the Spaniard will now look to translate his recent form into the main draw of Wimbledon.
Fearnley will apply pressure by approaching the net and serving accurately, therefore not allowing Moro Canas time on the ball. Meanwhile the Spaniard will use the forehand to open up the court as he will extend the rallies. This will be a good experience for Fearnley in what is a highly winnable match.
Prediction: Fearnley in four sets.
