Frances Tiafoe has had a fairly good last year or so and now the American finds himself in the world’s top ten after winning Stuttgart in the build-up to Wimbledon. However the American will be keen to improve his record at SW19 as he has never made the second week at Wimbledon despite his big potential on the surface. Now Tiafoe will look to change that statistic as he looks to make the last 16 and put himself in the mix to go all the way to the final.

Standing in Tiafoe’s way is former semi-finalist Grigor Dimitrov who is back into the third round at Wimbledon after racing through his first two rounds. The Bulgarian has had a consistent last few tournaments having reached the second week at Roland Garros as well as producing an encouraging performance against Carlos Alcaraz at Queen’s Club. Now Dimitrov looks to continue the momentum as he aims to reach the second week at Wimbledon for only the second time since making the semi-finals in 2014.

Tiafoe will look to serve smartly and target the Dimitrov backhand as he looks to finish points off at the net. Meanwhile Dimitrov will look to be smart with his returning as he looks to extend the rallies and rush Tiafoe’s baseline play as he looks for the unforced errors from the American. This will be a highly competitive match with the server looking to dominate the tempo of the contest. In the end Dimitrov’s slightly more consistent baseline play should edge him to victory.

Prediction: Dimitrov in four sets.

Grass hasn’t always been kind to Madison Keys but things might be changing for the better as the American has hit incredible form in recent matches. The 25th seed entered Wimbledon in fine form having won Eastbourne and now Keys has continued that into her first two rounds at Wimbledon having only lost eleven games. Now Keys will look to continue her form into the next few rounds as she aims for her third last 16 appearance at Wimbledon.

Next for Keys is Ukrainian Marta Kostyuk who’s first two opponents at Wimbledon have been Maria Sakkari and Paula Badosa. However Kostyuk has played impressive tennis in both matches as she now looks ahead to a third round match at Wimbledon for the first time in her career. Kostyuk’s explosive power mixed with impressive skills at the net will make her a tough opponent for any player as she looks to break even more ground at Wimbledon.

Keys will look to open up the court with her effective wide serve as she looks to open up space in the court to hit forehand winners. Meanwhile Kostyuk will look to use depth to force Keys to hit short balls close to the net so the Ukrainian can finish points off consistently. This will be a tough match for Keys and one that should test her Wimbledon credentials. In the end Keys will use her experience to edge her way to the last 16 in three tight sets.

Prediction: Keys in three sets.

After having a delayed start to his Wimbledon campaign, Alexander Zverev has produced some impressive tennis to reach the third round. The German has showed some consistent form over the last couple of months with the 19th seed capitalising on the confidence he showed to reach the Roland Garros semi-finals as he has had a good grass court season so far. Now Zverev looks to use his big serve to his advantage and reach the second week at SW19 for the third time in his career.

Next for Zverev is former Wimbledon finalist Matteo Berrettini who has had a rough time over the last few months with injuries and also mental health problems. However Berrettini has secured two extremely good wins over Lorenzo Sonego and Alex De Minaur with the Italian close to recreating the form that saw him reach the final a couple of years ago. Now Berrettini will look to finish a near-perfect first week by securing another top 20 win and ensuring he is a dark horse to win the tournament by sealing a place in the second week.

Zverev will look to be smart with his returning as he looks to use depth from the forehand side to nullify Berrettini’s attacking options. Meanwhile the Italian looks to use his serve to create short balls from Zverev where he can big forehand winners. This will be a close match but if Berrettini can maintain his level from the first two matches then he should reach the second week with relative ease.

Prediction: Berrettini in four sets.
