FLEURY LES AUBRAIS, LOIRET, FRANCE – Gregory Slade entered the event and was unseeded. The Brit claimed both the singles and doubles titles.

Gregory Slade entered the event in France and was unseeded. The Brit’s first opponent was Jerome De Meyere. The Frenchman stayed with the Brit in the first set, before Slade managed to break serve and take the lead. The second set was a little easier for the Brit who broke early and moved into the next round 6-4, 6-3.

The semi-final was against the second seed Ahmet Kaplan. The Turk found the Brit too good as Slade broke early in both sets. No matter what the seed tried, the Brit was equal to it. Slade soon had the match under control and progressed to the final of the singles in straight sets 6-3, 6-3.

In the final the Brit was against another unseeded player Ugur Altinel. The Turk got off to the better start and broke the serve of the Brit to take the lead. Slade re-grouped in the second set and dominated to level up the match. The final set was more of the same as Slade again dominated and lifted the title 4-6, 6-1, 6-2.

The doubles saw Slade partner with Marcus Laudan. Their first opponents were top seeds Thomas Masaryk & Justin Michel. The first set saw the top seeds break early and took the lead. The second set saw the Brit/German re-group and fight back to level up the match. The final set saw the unseeded pair ease through the match tiebreak to make the final 3-6, 7-5, 10-5.

In the final Slade & Laudan were against the second seeds Ugur Altinel & Ahmet Kaplan. In the first set the Brit/German were pushed hard by the Turkish pair and it looked to be going to a tiebreak. However, Slade & Laudan broke right at the end to take the lead. The second set saw the unseeded pair dominate and break the seeds to lift the title in straight sets 7-5, 6-2.

 

 

Wheelchair Round Up

Andrew Penney was defeated by Nicolas Charrier in the first round 6-0, 6-1.

Cornelia Oosthuizen was defeated by Nalani Buob in the first round 6-3, 6-3.

Dahnon Ward was defeated by Stephane Houdet in the quarter-final 6-0, 6-0.

Ben Bartram was defeated by Tom Egberink in the quarter-final 6-0, 6-3.

Lucy Shuker was defeated by Nalani Buob in the quarter-final 4-6, 6-3, 6-2.

Andrew Penney with Ding Jinhui were defeated by Tom Egberink & Maikel Scheffers in the quarter-final 6-1, 6-0.

Dahnon Ward with Nicolas Charrier were defeated by Frederic Cattaneo & Stephane Houdet in the quarter-final 6-1, 6-0.

Cornelia Oosthuzien with Nalani Buob were defeated by Lucy Shuker & Pauline Deroulede in the semi-final 6-2, 6-1.

Ben Bartram with Daisuke Arai were defeated by Tom Egberink & Maikel Scheffers in the semi-final 6-1, 6-2.

Lucy Shuker with Pauline Deroulede were defeated by Huang Jinlian & Li Xiaohui in the final 6-3, 6-4.
