BUSAN, SOUTH KOREA – Lucy Shuker entered the UNIQLO event and teamed up with Yui Kamiji and were the top seeds in the doubles. The pair claimed the title.

Lucy Shuker teamed up with Yui Kamiji in the doubles and were the top seeds. The Brit/Japanese pair had a bye in the first round. The quarter-final saw the top seeds against An Seong Suk & Sakhorn Khanthasit. Shuker & Kamiji dominated the match from the outset, losing only one game as they stormed through to the next round in straight sets 6-1, 6-0.

In the semi-final Shuker & Kamiji were against fourth seeds Shiori Funamitzu & Guo Luoyao. The Japanese/Chinese pair found the top seeds too strong and saw Shuker & Kamiji dominate from the start. Once again, the Brit/Japanese lost only one game and eased through in straight sets 6-1, 6-0.

The final saw the Brit/Japanese pair against the second seeds Manami Tanaka & Zhu Zhenzhen. The Japanese/Chinese pair managed to stay with the top seeds at the start of the set. However, Shuker & Kamiji secured the break of serve to take the lead. The second set was more of the same. The top seeds again broke serve and took the win in straight sets 6-3, 6-3.

Wheelchair Tennis Round Up

Cornelia Oosthuizen with Najwa Awane were defeated by Ksenia Chasteau & Zoe Maras in the first round 6-1, 6-1.

Cornelia Oosthuizen was defeated by Huang Jinlian in the first round 6-4, 6-4.

Lucy Shuker was defeated by Li Xiaohui in the quarter-final 6-1, 6-1.
