Alfie Hewett was the top seed in the singles event. In the first round the Brit drew Daisuke Arai. The Japanese was no match for the Brit who dominated from the start. Hewett strolled through the match like he had left the oven on. The top seed had no difficulty dealing with the serve of Arai and moved into the next round 6-1, 6-0.

The quarter-final round pitched Hewett against his doubles partner Gordon Reid. The top seed dominated the first set as Reid couldn’t contain Hewett. The second set though was a little closer, as Reid started to find his game. Unfortunately for Reid, Hewett still managed to break serve and moved into the next round 6-2, 6-4.

In the semi-final the Brit was against another Japanese player in Takuya Miki. The top seed dominated the match from the outset, having very little difficulty with the serve of Miki. The Brit moved through to the final in straight sets, hardly breaking a sweat 6-1, 6-1.

The final saw Hewett against third seed Tokito Oda. The Japanese started well, staying with the Brit at first, however the top seed soon showed his experience and broke to take the lead. The second set was dominated by Hewett who was not going to be denied. The Brit lifted the trophy in straight sets 6-3, 6-1.

In the doubles, Hewett and Reid were the second seeds. The first round saw them against Joachim Gerard & Miki. The Belgian/Japanese pair had nothing in the first set, as the Brits dominated and took the lead. Although the second set was a little closer, Hewett & Reid moved through in straight sets 6-0, 6-3.

The semi-final saw the Brits against Arai & Takashi Sanada. This match was much closer as the Japanese fought to stay with Hewett & Reid. The seeds managed to break in each set and the Japanese players were unable to get back on terms. The Brits marched into the final in straight sets 6-4, 6-4.

In the final the Brits were against unseeded pair Maikel Scheffers & Ruben Spaargaren. The Dutch pair had taken out the top seeds in the first round, so were full of confidence. However, the Brits dominated the match from the start. Hewett & Reid didn’t put a foot wrong as they eased through the match in straight sets 6-1, 6-2.
