FLANDERS, BELGIUM – Ben Bartram entered the ITF event and was the third seed. The Brit claimed the title defeating the top seed along the way.

Ben Bartram entered the ITF event in Belgium and was the third seed. The Brit was drawn against Lee Ji-Hwan in the first round. Bartram was untroubled by Ji-Hwan as the Brit dominated the match from start to finish. In fact the third seed only dropped one game to claim the match 6-0, 6-1.

In the quarter-final the Brit was against Nicolas Charrier. The Frenchman was a bit tougher opposition for Bartram, but the Brit dominated the first set and took the lead. The second set proved closer, as Charrier found his game. Fortunately, the third seed was able to break serve and move into the semi-fina; 6-2, 6-4.

The semi-final pitched Bartram against the top seed Maikel Scheffers. The Dutchman stayed with the Brit in the first set, before Bartram secured the break of serve and move ahead. The second set saw Scheffers re-group and fight back, breaking the Brit to level the match. The final set saw the Brit break serve to secure the win and move into the final 6-4, 3-6, 6-3.

In the final Bartram was against Ho Won Im. The Korean dominated the first set, as the Brit struggled on serve. However, the seed re-grouped in the second set and stayed with the Korean. It looked to be heading to a tiebreak, however the Brit managed to break right at the end to level up the match. The final set saw Bartram once again secure a break of serve to take the match 2-6, 7-5, 6-4.

Wheelchair Round Up

Andrew Penney was defeated by Kouhei Suzuki in the first round in Flanders 6-0, 6-3.

Ben Bartram with Kouhei Suzuki were defeated by Maikel Scheffers & Maarten Ter Hofte in the semi-final in Flanders 5-7, 6-3, 10-7.

Abbie Breakwell was defeated by Sandrine Cauderon Paulin in the semi-final in De Contamines 6-4, 4-6, 7-5.

Abbie Breakwell with Louise Charlotte Willerslev-Olsen were defeated by Sandrine Cauderon Pulin & Zoe Maras in the semi-final in De Contamines 6-2, 6-4.
