BIEL-BIENNE, SWITZERLAND – Ben Bartram teamed up with Maikel Scheffers and claimed the doubles title. The Brit made the semi-final in the singles.

Ben Bartram teamed up with Maikel Scheffers for the ITF event and were second seeds. The Brit/Dutch were against Serge Richard Mabally & Justin Peraux in the first round. The seeds dominated the match from start to finish, as the French/Belgian were unable to hold serve. Bartram & Scheffers moved into the next round 6-0, 6-0.
In the semi-final the second seeds were against Dermot Bailey & Garreth Greene. Bartram & Scheffers dominated the first set as Bailey & Greene were unable to hold serve. The second set saw the Brit/Irish pair play better and try to get into the match. However, the seeds were just that bit better and broke serve to book a spot in the final 6-0, 6-3.
The final saw the Brit/Dutch against the top seeds Frederic Cattaneo & Casey Ratzlaff. Bartram & Scheffers took the game to the top seeds. The Brit/Dutch managed to break serve in the first set to take the lead. The top seeds tried to fight back in the second set, but Bartram & Scheffers broke again to lift the title 6-3, 6-3.
Singles
Bartram, who was third seed, faced compatriot Bailey in the first round of the singles. The seed dominated the first set as Bailey struggled to hold serve and took the lead. The second set was much closer, as Bailey stayed with Bartram. However, eventually the seed secured the break of serve to move into the next round 6-1, 7-5.
In the quarter-final the Brit was against Herbert Keller. Bartram dominated from the outset and Keller was unable to hold serve. The seed eased through each set as the Swiss player just could not get into the match at all. Bartram moved into the semi-final in straight sets 6-0, 6-0.
The semi-final saw the Brit against second seed Casey Ratzlaff. The American dominated the first set, as Bartram could not get anything on serve of the second seed. Ratzlaff broke easily and soon had the lead. The second set was closer, as Bartram started to find a groove. Unfortunately, the American secured the break of serve to move into the final 6-1, 6-4.
Women’s Event
Cornelia Oosthuizen was the second seed and as a result had a bye into the quarter-final. In the quarter-final the Brit was against Angela Grosswiler. The Swiss managed to stay with Oosthuizen in the first set, but the Brit eventually obtained the break of serve to take the lead. The second set saw the seed dominate and move into the semi-final in straight sets 6-3, 6-0.
The semi-final saw the Brit against third seed Elizabeth Williams. The American found Oosthuizen far too strong and struggled to hold serve. The Brit dominated the match from the start and broke at will. The Brit easily booked a spot in the final 6-1, 6-1.
In the final the Brit was against Swiss top seed Nalani Buob. The Swiss dominated the first set as the Brit struggled to stay with Buob. The second set was much closer as Oosthuizen started to get a handle on the Swiss. Unfortunately, the top seed managed to break serve and took the title 6-2, 6-4.
Doubles
For the doubles Oosthuizen teamed up with Annabelle Ribeaud and the pair were the second seeds. Having received a bye into the semi-final the Brit/Swiss were against Foluke Habibat Shittu & Maria Paola Tolu. The Nigerian/Italian stayed with the Brit/Swiss in the first set, forcing a tiebreak. The seeds edged through the breaker and took the lead. Oosthuizen & Ribeaud dominated the second set and moved into the final in straight sets 7-6(4), 6-2.
In the final the second seeds were against the top seeds Nalani Buob & Angela Grosswiler. The top seeds dominated the first set, as the Brit/Swiss struggled to get into the match. The second set however proved to be closer. Oosthuizen & Ribeaud held serve more, but eventually the top seeds broke serve and took the match 6-1, 6-3.
