Harriet Dart will hope that her stats for the year will continue to give her an edge over Chloe Paquet, a player who she has had the measure of in all their previous meetings, including qualifying rounds at the US Open.

Playing Styles & Prediction
Despite her solid run at Cluj Napoca and on the grass-court season, Dart has sometimes struggled to find that consistency over the year but comes in perhaps a little sharper and more experienced in New York than Paquet, who had never made it out of the qualifying rounds.
That being said, Paquet is in the main draw finally as of right but doesn’t necessarily perform as well on the hard courts than she does on clay and Dart does have a small edge there.
Dart is feisty and wants results and should come into this a very slight favourite, having had more matches under her belt through qualifying victories in Toronto and Cincinnati, even of they did not materialise into main draw wins.
She will do well not to be complacent and her campaign could start with some tough battles.
