Having claimed the week two title, Brandon Murphy came into week three looking to continue where he had left off. In the first round Murphy was againt Oscar Weightman. The defending champion stayed toe to toe with Weightman in the first set and forced a tiebreak. Weightman dominated the tiebreak and took the lead. Murphy re-grouped in the second set and secured a break of serve to level the match. In the final set match tiebreak, the young Brit was too strong for Weightman who was unable to stop Murphy from progressing 6-7(1), 6-4, 10-3.
In the second round robin match Murphy was against Dan Little. The young Brit and Little stayed close, and a tiebreak ensued. The breaker was very tight, with neither player wanting to give an inch. Eventually Murphy managed to get the mini break and took the lead. The second set was much more straight forward for the defending champion. Murphy broke the serve of Little and moved on 7-6(6), 6-3.
The quarter-final saw Murphy against Alexis Canter. The young Brit found the game of Canter quickly, and secured the break of serve in the first set. No matter what Canter tried he was unable to get back into the set. The second set was much the same with Murphy snagging the break of serve to book a spot in the semi-final 6-4, 6-4.
In the semi-final Murphy was against Charlie Broom. The first set was very tight, with the young Brit and Broom going toe to toe. A tiebreak looked to be on the cards. However, Murphy managed to secure the break of serve right at the end of the set and took the lead. The second set saw Broom try to get on terms with Murphy, but the young Brit once again secured the break of serve required and took the match 7-5, 6-4.
The final saw Murphy against Dan Cox. The young Brit started fast, breaking the serve of Cox at the earliest opportunity and took the lead. The second set was a little closer, however Murphy once again secured the vital break of serve to claim the week title 6-3, 6-4.
