Top Seeds: Stefanos Tsitsipas, Alexander Zverev, Diego Schwarzman, Milos Raonic

2020 Champion: Rafael Nadal

Although it felt like an early exit for Stefanos Tsitsipas in Doha, he has reached quarter-finals and semi-finals in his three tournaments this year. Maybe it will be Alexander Zverev who feels he has more to prove after bombing out of Rotterdam in the first round.

Cameron Norrie will want to put disappointing loss last week in Marseille behind him and once more starts with a qualifier, to get his campaign going.

2020 champion: Novak Djokovic

There was disappointment for fans of Roger Federer and indeed Andy Murray as both pulled out of this week’s tournament in Dubai. For Federer, he came back to the tour with two long three-setters after almost 14 months off the tour. Losing in his second match, he opted to return to training, and had already confirmed he would not be defending his Miami title.

Meanwhile, Murray announced he too would be missing Dubai, where he would have been entering on a wildcard, following the birth of his fourth child. He is intending on travelling to Miami where he expects to be granted a wildcard.

British interest comes in the shape of Dan Evans. The Brit took his first set off Federer, and benefits from a Bye in the first round.

Top Seeds: Ekaterina Alexandrova, Veronika Kudermetova, Fiona Ferro, Svetlana Kuznetsova

2020 champion: Kiki Bertens

It is almost an all-Russian top-four, with France’s Fiona Ferro getting in amongst the top seeds. It is a fair field with some established names in there, and it will be especially interesting to see whether the resurgence of Daria Kasatkina from the start of the year can carry her past her previous bests here, where she has reached the semi-final twice.

Top Seeds: Sloane Stephens, Nadia Podoroska, Zheng Saisai, Marie Bouzkova

2020 Champion: Elina Svitolina

Top seed Sloane Stephens will try and put behind a pretty dismal start to the season, with three straight losses Down Under, on top of hard lockdown to start the year.

Meanwhile British interest this week will come from Heather Watson and Katie Boulter.
