Playing styles and prediction

Guinard fully earned his wildcard to Roland Garros having won a clay-court challenger and last week qualified for Lyon, where he took Holger Rune to three sets and probably should have won the match. The Frenchman has a solid and consistent baseline game which allows him to construct points and create angles for effective winners.

It will be interesting to see what physical and mental state Norrie will be in come his opening round match as fatigue is expected to play a part here. The hope is that if Norrie plays his base level of play then over best of five sets he should be too much for Guinard however the Frenchman should be able to cause enough problems to extend the match further than expected.

Prediction: Norrie in four sets.
