Off the backhand side, the expected crucial aspect for this match, the Bulgarian can show a larger array of shots.

Tsitsipas can increase his chances in a tense tussle but, in the unpredictable conditions seen in Paris, Dimitrov can raise his level at the key moments.

World No. 1 Novak Djokovic will face No. 15 seed Karen Khachanov for the fifth time, the first ever on clay. After the disqualification at the US Open last month, the Serbian won the Rome Masters and progressed comfortably thus far in Paris. Here, but at 2018 Paris Masters on indoor hard-courts, Khachanov notched up his biggest career title.

Khachanov counts on massive first serves and heavy topspin forehands, so he can become a stern opponent for many players. The World No.1 however is expected to read Khachanov’s predictable patterns on serve and redirect his groundstrokes. The Russian’s lapses in concentration could be a huge disadvantage.

Prediction: Djokovic in straight sets.
