FLORENCE, ITALY – Felix Auger-Aliassime and Andrey Rublev boosted their chances of qualifying for the Nitto ATP Finals after winning titles in Florence and Gijon respectively this week.

ATP Rankings and Brits Top 10
This week’s rankings update starts with Felix Auger-Aliassime and Andrey Rublev who have boosted their chances of qualifying for the Nitto ATP Finals with title runs. Auger-Aliassime claimed the title in Florence, his second of his career having only dropped one set throughout the week. While Rublev was in dominant form, winning the title in Gijon having beaten the likes of Tommy Paul, Dominic Thiem and Sebastian Korda. As a result Auger-Aliassime climbs inside the cut-off and is now seventh in the race while Rublev is on the verge of qualification, remaining in fifth place.
As for the finalists at this week’s tournaments there were significant rises with Korda’s run to the Gijon final earning him an eleven place up the rankings to 36 in the world. As for the finalist in Florence, it was a very successful week for J.J. Wolf who beat the likes of Maxime Cressy and Alexander Bublik to make his ATP breakthrough. As a result the American climbed up 19 places to 56 in the world.
In other significant ranking moves, there was a 20 place rise for Florence semi-finalist Mikael Ymer with the Swede climbing up to 79 in the world. While Nikoloz Basilashvili dropped 57 places to 93 in the world after the Georgian’s poor form in the second half of the season.
As for the Brits Cameron Norrie moved outside of the world’s top ten, dropping down four places to 14 in the world. While Andy Murray and Jack Draper both continued to make small gains up the rankings climbing up two places ton 46 and 48 in the world.

WTA Rankings and Brits Top 10
Meanwhile on the WTA tour it was another dominant week for world number one Iga Swiatek, who claimed her eighth title of the season by winning the San Diego title. Swiatek defeated Croatian qualifier Donna Vekic in three sets to round off an impressive week as she continues to show her superiority ahead of the tour. As for Vekic, it was an impressive week for the Croatian as she beat Maria Sakkari, Karolina Pliskova, Aryna Sabalenka and Danielle Collins to get to the final and get back to her best form. As a result Vekic has climbed up 30 places to 47 in the world as she looks for an Australian Open seeding.
Other noticeable rankings news saw Jessica Pegula qualify for the WTA Finals with her run to the semi-finals in San Diego. The American is the third player to qualify with the other five spots being decided at next week’s WTA 1000 spot in Guadalajara with 17 players in the mix still to mathematically qualify.
There was also a massive rise up the rankings for Anna Blinkova as her run to the Cluj title saw her climb up 59 place to number 79 in the world. Meanwhile Victoria Azarenka suffered a 13 place drop down the rankings to 37 in the world with Paula Badosa becoming the only ranking drop within the top ten as she fell by four places to number eight in the world.
As for the Brits, Emma Raducanu dropped down two places to number 70 in the world while Katie Swan also suffered a drop down the rankings of eight places to number 126 in the world. Meanwhile Harriet Dart climbed up four places in the rankings to number 86 in the world.
