TURIN, ITALY β Itβs time to look at the end of season rankings after the Nitto ATP Finals in Turin with Coco Gauff, Taylor Fritz, Jannik Sinner and Aryna Sabalenka all finishing the year strong.
ATP Rankings and Brits Top 10
Taylor Fritz will end the year as a top five player for the first time in his career after reaching the final of the Nitto ATP Finals. The American played sizzling tennis throughout the week including his last set tiebreak win over Alexander Zverev. Now Fritz has momentum heading into next season as he aims to build on his consistency. Of course the only player he lost to was Jannik Sinner as the Italian became the first from his country to win the Nitto ATP Finals. An incredible season means Sinner will end the year as world number one having won two Grand Slams and eight titles overall this season.
In other ranking news, Zverev will end the season as world number two after reaching the final four in Turin. The German defeated Carlos Alcaraz at the ATP Finals to ensure that he finishes above the Spaniard despite Alcaraz winning two Grand Slam titles. Zverevβs consistency gave him the edge this season as he aims to win a first Grand Slam trophy in 2025. There was also a drop down the rankings for defending champion Novak Djokovic with the Serb absent in Turin with Djokovic now at seven in the world heading into next season.
As for the Brits, Jack Draper will end the year as the world number 15 after his title in Vienna a few weeks ago. Meanwhile Cameron Norrieβs run to the Metz final a couple of weeks ago means that Norrie will finish the year as a top 50 player after a turbulent season full of a lack of confidence and injuries. There is also a top 100 entry for Jacob Fearnley as his success on the Challenger tour means he will enter the Australian Open directly.
