Anna Karolina Schmiedlova has been far more effective on the clay and following her first round defeat from Wimbledon, has been hitting the key post-grass tournaments in preparation for Paris, and a return to Roland Garros.

 

 

Playing Styles & Prediction

Although Schmiedlova is no stranger to the clay, her stay earlier this year at Roland Garros was short-lived, with a first-round exit, but she has been putting in the time post-Wimbledon in the curious post-grass clay court swing. Four Boulter it has been a longer break from the court, after losing in the second round of Wimbledon. She had a clay season at last on the main tour, but it remains one of her weakest events.

However, she has grown in confidence over the past few months and has enjoyed being at the higher end of the rankings, but she will have her work cut out with her against Schmiedlova.

Prediction: Boulter in three sets.
