Playing styles and prediction

Echargui has been playing Challenger events for most of the season but with very limited success having only won a handful of matches this season. Now having secured an ITF place at the Olympics, the Tunisian will hope the life-changing experience will inspire him to continue working hard as he aims for a place in the world’s top 300 by the end of the year.

Evans will look to use a mixture of slice and power as he aims to be aggressive on the backhand side. Meanwhile Echargui aims to remain patient and consistent with the Tunisian looking to frustrate Evans throughout the match. Despite Evans lack of form, confidence and fitness the Brit should have too much quality for Echargui.

Prediction: Evans in straight sets.
