Playing Styles & Prediction

Stricker has spent most of the season on the challenger but has produced consistently good results to be on the brink of the world’s top 100. A big serve mixed with a one-handed backhand has seen the Swiss climb up 135 places up the rankings and he will hope he can continue his development next season as he aims for an automatic entry into Grand Slams.

This tournament will be a good test for Draper heading into the Australian Open next year with this tournament being best of five sets and first to four games. The Brit will look to improve his stamina and fitness as well as try different things in order to improve his game. This should be a test that Draper should get through but on indoor hard courts, Stricker can be a tricky customer and it would be no surprise if this went to four sets at least.

Prediction: Draper in four sets.
