MIAMI, USA – After reaching the last 16 in Indian Wells, Emma Raducanu is looking to continue her momentum into Miami this week where Bianca Andreescu awaits in the opening round.

After reaching the last 16 in Indian Wells, Emma Raducanu is looking to continue the momentum in Miami when she faces former US Open champion Bianca Andreescu in the opening round.

Playing styles and prediction

The Canadian has a mixed start to the season having defeated the players around her in the world rankings, Andreescu is still struggling to beat players above her. However a solid effort against Iga Swiatek in California should give Andreescu enough confidence that she can turn things around as she looks to be seeded for Roland Garros.

Raducanu will look to serve consistently well and be aggressive from the baseline as she looks to test Andreescu’s defensive skills and variety. Meanwhile the Canadian will look to dominate on return and look to neutralise Raducanu’s backhand to set up effective winners. This will be an intriguing clash of styles with both players having a good amount of confidence heading into this match. Andreescu heads into this match as slight favourite but Raducanu will know that if she can make a good start to the match then she has every chance of advancing into the second round.
