Norrie will need to be wary of Barrere’s effective and efficient serving with the Brit hoping to keep up his efficiency on return.

Playing styles and prediction

Barrere finds himself inside the world’s top 70 having won a challenger at the start of the year as well as producing wins, week in and week out on the ATP tour. The Frenchman will look to use his big serve to impose his style of play as he aims to keep climbing up the ATP rankings and break new ground.

Norrie will look to keep a consistent level on return as he will need to remain patient and wait for the opportunities. Meanwhile Barrere will look to serve well and maintain aggression from the baseline forcing Norrie behind the baseline. This will be a tough test for Norrie in faster Miami conditions but in the end the Brit should have enough quality to seal victory.

Prediction: Norrie in three sets.
