Playing styles and prediction
Lajovic hasn’t had the start to the season that he would have been expecting as he is yet to win a match on a hard court this season. The Serbian was able to build up some confidence on the South American clay courts but has struggled to find his rhythm on hard courts. Now Lajovic will look to change that before entering the European clay court swing.
Murray will need to be wary of Lajovic’s returning ability especially in a match where the Serbian really has nothing to lose. The Brit will look to continue to serve to a high standard and be the aggressor, testing Lajovic’s defensive skills under pressure. As long as Murray can maintain a consistently good level of play from the baseline then he should have too much quality for the Serb.
Prediction: Murray in straight sets.
