Playing styles and prediction

Apart from two tournaments in South America earlier this year, Zapata Miralles hasn’t had the best of seasons as he looks to have an outside chance of gaining a Roland Garros seeding. The Spaniard celebrated in crazy fashion after earning his first main draw win in Madrid and is looking to use that confidence to boost the rest of his tournament.

Evans will look to serve consistently well and be aggressive on return as he looks to test Zapata Miralles’ defensive skills. Meanwhile the Spaniard will look to produce deep baseline shot-making to test Evans’ ability to be aggressive from defensive positions. This will be a tricky match for Evans but if he can be aggressive in the right moments and remain patient from the baseline, then he should edge this match.

Prediction: Evans in three sets.
