NOTTINGHAM, UK – James Davis & Matthew Summers entered the doubles event in Nottingham and were the third seeds. The Brits took the title, defeating the top seeds in the final.

James Davis & Matthew Summers were the third seeds at this weeks Nottingham event. The Brits drew Ewen Lumsden & Conor Gannon in the first round. The seeds did not get off to the best start. Although staying with Lumsden & Gannon in the first set and looking to force a tiebreak, it was the Brit/Irish pair that broke serve and took the lead. The second set saw the seeds re-group and dominate to level up the match. The match tiebreak was close at first. However, eventually, the third seeds edged through and took the match 5-7, 6-1, 10-6.
The quarter-final saw the third seeds against James Markiewicz & Michael Shaw. This match was much easier for the seeds as they dominated from the outset. Davis & Summers barely put a foot wrong as they eased through the first set. The second was even quicker for the seeds who lost only one game and moved on to the next round in straight sets 6-2, 6-1.
In the semi-final the Brits were against Tom Hands & Harry Wendelken. The seeds battled hard in the first set and secured the break of serve to move ahead. The second set saw Hands & Wendelken re-group and fight back. The non seeded pair broke serve to level the match. In the ensuing match tiebreak, the seeds edged ahead and held on to book a spot in the next round 6-4, 3-6, 10-6.
The final saw the third seeds against the top seeds Joshua Charlton & Blake Ellis. The Australians stayed with the Brits at first. Eventually, though, Davis & Summers broke serve to take the lead. The second set was more of the same, with the top seeds trying hard. Once again, the Brits broke serve and held on to take the title 6-3, 6-4.
