SUNDERLAND, UK – Freya Christie & Ali Collins entered the ITF event and were the top seeds. The Brits lifted the title without dropping a set.

Freya Christie & Ali Collins entered the ITF event in Sunderland and were the top seeds. The Brits received a bye in the first round. Their quarter-final opponents were Joanna Garland & Isabella Shinikova. The top seeds dominated from the outset. Garland & Shinkiova struggled to hold serve, and the Brits more or less broke at will. The top seeds moved into the next round 6-1, 6-1.
In the semi-final the Brits were against Eliz Maloney & Andre Lukosiute. The first set was very close, as neither pairing gave an inch. Eventually, a tiebreak ensued. Christie & Collins fought to get a mini break, and finally secured this to claim the set. The second set was much easier for the top seeds as they dominated to move into the final in straight sets 7-6(7), 6-2.
The final saw the Brits against Eden Silva & Magali Kempen. The Brit/Belgian tried to stay with the top seeds, but Christie & Collins secured a break of serve to take the lead. The second set though, was much closer. Silva & Kempen stayed with the top seeds and forced a tiebreak. In the breaker it was Christie & Collins that edged through to lift the trophy 6-3, 7-6(5).
