ROEHAMPTON, UK – Heather Watson entered the ITF event and was the second seed as the Brit reached the final.

Heather Watson entered the ITF event and was the second seed. In the first round Watson drew wildcard Hephzibah Oluwadare. The seed and the wildcard stayed toe to toe until Watson eventually broke serve and took the lead. The second set saw Watson dominate Oluwadare breaking freely. The seed moved into the next round in straight sets 6-4, 6-2.
The second round saw Watson against Australian Talia Gibson. The Brit broke early in the first set as Gibson struggled to stay with the seed. The Brit repeated the same thing in the second set. Once again the seed broke and moved into the next round 6-3, 6-3.
In the quarter-final Watson was against fifth seed Viktoria Hruncakova. The Slovak struggled against Watson in the first set, as the Brit broke early and took the lead. The second set was much closer as Hruncakova stayed toe to toe with Watson and forced a tiebreak. In the breaker the Brit edged through and moved into the next round in straight sets 6-3, 7-6(6).
The semi-final saw Watson against sixth seed Antonia Ruzic. The Croatian was outclassed by the second seed from the start. Watson dominated, losing only one game against Ruzic. The Brit eased through into the final in straight sets 6-1, 6-0.
In the final, Watson was against seventh seed Lulu Sun. The first set saw the Swiss player stay toe to toe with Watson. The Brit fought hard and was pushing towards a tiebreak. Unfortunately, Sun secured the break of serve and took the lead. The second set was more of the same, as once again Sun and Watson stayed close. Just like the first set the Swiss secured the break of serve and lifted the title 7-5, 7-5.
Doubles
Freya Christie & Samantha Murray Sharan were the second seeds in the doubles. In the first round the Brits were against Ayumi Koshiishi & Anastasia Plangerelli. The Japanese/Italian pair found the seeds too strong in the first set, as the Brits dominated and took the lead. The second set was a little closer as Koshiishi & Plangerelli held serve more. Eventually, Christie & Murray Sharan broke serve and moved into the next round 6-1, 6-3.
The quarter-final saw the Brits against Belgians Sofia Costoulas & Lara Salden. The Belgians stayed with the Brits in the first set and forced a tiebreak. In the breaker Costoulas & Salden dominated the breaker and took the lead. The seeds re-grouped in the second set and broker serve to level up the match. In the ensuing match tiebreak Christie & Murray Sharan eased through and moved into the next round 6-7(3), 6-4, 10-6.
In the semi-final the Brits were against fourth seeds Madeleine Brooks & Eudice Chong. The fourth seeds broke serve and took the first set. Christie & Murray Sharan re-grouped in the second set, breaking early and levelling up the match. The ensuing match tiebreak saw the Brits edge through again and move into the final 4-6, 6-3, 10-6.
The final saw the second seeds against the third seeds Ali Collins & Elena Malygina. The Brit/Estonia stayed with Christie & Murray Sharan to force a tiebreak. The second seeds edged through and took the lead. The second set saw the second seeds break early and hold on to take the title in straight sets 7-6(5), 6-3.

Yuriko Lily Miyazaki was defeated by Nikola Bartunkova in the first round 6-3, 4-6, 6-3.
Isabelle Lacy was defeated by Antonia Ruzic in the first round 6-1, 6-1.
Emma Wilson was defeated by Viktoria Hruncakova in the first round 5-7, 6-3, 7-6(2).
Alicia Barnett & Hannah Klugman were defeated by Ali Collins & Elena Malygina in the first round 3-6, 6-3, 10-8.
Isabelle Lacy with Mariam Bolkvadze were defeated by Bronte Murgett & Emma Wilson in the first round 0-0 (RET).
Flora Johnson & Hephzibah Oluwadare were defeated by Madeleine Brooks & Eudice Chong in the first round 6-0, 6-4.
Brooke Black & Ellie Blackford were defeated by Sofia Costoulas & Lara Salden in the first round 6-3, 6-1.
Hannah Klugman was defeated by Simona Waltert in the second round 6-2, 6-2.
Katy Dunne was defeated by Mika Stojsavljevic in the second round 6-1, 6-4.
Mika Stojsavljevic was defeated by Lulu Sun in the quarter-final 6-3, 6-3.
Bronte Murgett & Emma Wilson were defeated by Ali Collins & Elena Malygina in the quarter-final 6-2, 6-0.
Mika Stojsavljevic & Mingge Xu were defeated by Talia Gibson & Justina Mikulskyte in the quarter-final 7-5, 7-5.
