NOTTINGHAM, UK – Harriet Dart & George Loffhagen claim the singles titles, Naiktha Bains, Maia Lumsden, Giles Hussey & Ben Jones take the doubles titles. Successful week at home for the Brits.

Harriet Dart was the top seed at the ITF event and drew Marine Szostak in the first round. The Frenchwomen was no match for the Brit who dominated from the outset. Dart eased through both sets, barely putting a foot wrong. The top seed had little resistance from Szostak and soon had progressed to the next round in straight sets 6-1, 6-0.
In the second round Dart was against Wildcard entrant Ranah Akua Stoiber. The junior Brit managed to hold serve a couple of times in each set. However, the top seed dominated from the outset. Dart had very little trouble overcoming her younger compatriot and moved into the next round 6-2, 6-2.
The quarter-final saw the seed against Julie Belgraver. The Frenchwoman put up very little resistance in the first set, as Dart dominated and took the lead. The second set was much closer as Belgraver tried to fight back. The Frenchwoman pushed hard, and looked to be heading to a tiebreak. However, Dart managed to secure the break of serve and take the match in straight sets 6-2, 7-5.
In the semi-final the Brit was against the fourth seed Arina Rodionova. The Australian was no match for the top seed who once again dominated from the start. No matter what Rodionova tried, she was unable to do anything on the Dart serve. The top seed moved into the final in straight sets 6-2, 6-2.
The final saw Dart against qualifier Taylah Preston. The Australian found the Brit too strong. The top seed broke at will in the first set, dominating and quickly moving one step closer. The second set saw Preston play better, as the Australian managed to hold serve twice. Eventually, though, Dart eased through and took the title 6-0, 6-2.
Men’s singles
George Loffhagen entered the event and was unseeded. In the first round the Brit drew Wildcard Charlie Robertson. Loffhagen dominated from the outset, barely putting a foot wrong. Robertson fought hard, but was unable to stop Loffhagen claiming the win in straight sets 6-1, 6-2.
In the second round Loffhagen was against another Brit, this time it was Mark Whitehouse. The first set was close, but eventually Loffhagen secured the vital break of serve to move into the lead. The second set was dominated by Loffhagen, as Whitehouse was unable to hold serve. Loffhagen moved on 6-4, 6-0.
The quarter-final saw the Brit against Estonian Daniil Glinka. The first set was very close, as Glinka stayed with the Brit forcing a tiebreak. The Brit edged the breaker and took the lead. The second set saw the Brit break the Estonian early to move into the next round 7-6(4), 6-3.
In the semi-final the Brit was against Japanese Yusuke Takahashi. The Brit dominated from the start as the Japanese struggled to stay with him. Loffhagen eased through both sets, with little trouble from Takahashi. The Brit took the match 6-0, 6-2.
The final saw the Brit against sixth seed Jules Marie. The first set was very close, with the Frenchman taking the Brit to a tiebreak. In the breaker Loffhagen edged through and took the lead. The second set saw the Brit dominate Marie and lift the title in straight sets 7-6(5), 6-2.
Women’s Doubles
Naiktha Bains & Maia Lumsden were the top seeds and as a result, had a bye in the first round. In the quarter-final the Brits were against Julie Belgraver & Clara Vlasselaer. The Brits secured a break of serve in the first set and took the lead. Belgraver & Vlasselaer tried to fight back, but the Brits broke again and moved into the next round 6-3, 6-3.
The semi-final saw Bains & Lumsden against Ella McDonald & Given Roach. The top seeds broke their fellow Brits serve early and took the first set. The second set saw Bains & Lumsden dominate McDonald & Roach. The top seeds soon had the match under control and moved into the final 6-3, 6-2.
In the final the Brits were against the second seeds Lu Jia-Jing & Elena Malygina. The Chinese/Estonian pair broke the Brits serve in the first set and took the lead. The second set, however, saw the Brits fight back and break the serve of Jia-Jing & Malygina to level up the match. The final set was edged by the Brits and they lifted the trophy 4-6, 6-4, 10-6.
Men’s Doubles
Scott Duncan & Marcus Willis were the second seeds, and drew James Davis & Millen Hurrion in the first round. The seeds broke Davis & Hurrion in the first set and took the lead. The second set saw Davis & Hurrion stay with Duncan & Willis, forcing a tiebreak. In the breaker the seeds edged ahead and took the match 6-4, 7-6(5).
In the quarter-final the second seeds were against Patrick Brady & Adam Jones. The seeds fought hard in the first set and broke Brady & Adams for the lead. The second set was more of the same as Duncan & Willis broke early to secure the win and move into the next round 6-4, 6-3.
The semi-final saw the seeds against Joe Tyler & Alfredo Perez. The match was very much the same as the quarter-final. Duncan & Willis once again fought hard and managed to break serve for the lead. The second set saw the seeds break early again and book a spot in the final 6-4, 6-3.
In the final the second seeds were against third seeds Giles Hussey & Ben Jones. The first set saw Duncan & Willis break early and took the lead. The second set was dominated by the second seeds who then lifted the trophy in straight sets 6-3, 6-2.
