LOUGHBOROUGH, UK – Emily Appleton entered the ITF qualifying. The Brit came through into the main draw, and went on to lift the title.

Emily Appleton entered the ITF event and was in the qualifying rounds. After successfully negotiating qualifying and making the main draw the Brit drew Federica Di Sarra in the first round. Appleton dominated the first set as the Italian struggled to get into the match. The second set was more of the same from the Brit who only dropped one game all set to take the match in straight sets 6-2, 6-1.
In the second round Appleton was against the seventh seed Diana Marcinkevica. The Latvian stayed toe to toe with the Brit and forced a tiebreak. In the breaker Appleton dominated and took the lead. The second set saw Marcinkevica re-group, breaking the Brit and levelling up the match. The final set saw Appleton re-apply the pressure, breaking the seed and taking the match 7-6(2), 4-6, 6-3.
The quarter-final saw the qualifier against another Brit Eden Silva. The first set saw both players fight for the break, before eventually Appleton secured the break of serve and took the lead. In the second set Appleton broke early and Silva was unable to get back on terms, Appleton moved into the semi-final in straight sets 7-5, 6-3.
In the semi-final Appleton was against the only other remaining Brit in the draw, wildcard Eliz Maloney. Maloney got off to the better start, surprising Appleton and breaking to take the lead. The second set saw Appleton re-group and break serve to level up the match. The final set was a dominant display by the qualifier as Maloney struggled to stay with Appleton who moved into the final 3-6, 6-3, 6-1.
The final saw Appleton against the top seed Nigina Abduraimova. The Uzbekistan player should have been the favourite on ranking for this match. However, the Brit was on fire and did not let Ubduraimova get anything her own way. The Brit broke in both sets to take the win and claim her first 25k level title 6-4, 6-4.

Soumeya Anane with Elaine Genovese were defeated by Joanna Garland & Gabriela Andrea Knutson in the first round 6-1, 6-2.
Eliz Maloney with Arina Gabriela Vasilescu were defeated by Holly Hutchinson & Emma Wilson in the first round 6-4, 6-3.
Jessica Matthews & Alisha Reayer were defeated by Nigina Abduraimova & Diana Marcinkevica in the quarter-final 6-0, 6-1.
Holly Hutchinson & Emma Wilson were defeated by Martyna Kubka & Elena Malygina in the quarter-final 6-3, 6-4.
Brooke Black & Sarah Copley were defeated by Emily Appleton & Yuriko Lily Miyazaki in the quarter-final 6-2, 6-1.
Emily Appleton & Yuriko Lily Miyazaki were defeated by Martyna Kubka & Elena Malygina in the semi-final 7-6(4), 6-7(3), 10-6.
