Heather Watson used a wildcard and entered the ITF event. The Brit as a result was the top seed. In the first round, Watson was against Rebecca Sramkova. The Slovakian stayed with Watson in the first set, before the top seed managed to get the break of serve and took the lead. The second set was much easier for the Brit as Sramkova was unable to stop Watson from breaking. The top seed moved into the next round 6-4, 6-3.

In the second round, the top seed was against French qualifier Fiona Ferro. Watson dominated from the off as Ferro struggled to stay with the Brit. The top seed had little difficulty overcoming Ferro. Watson bearly put a foot wrong as she eased through to the next round 6-2, 6-1.

The quarter-final saw Watson against unseeded Czech Anna Siskova. The Czech got off to the better start and broke the top seed to take the first set. The second set was much closer, as neither player gave an inch. It looked to be heading to a tiebreak before Watson managed to get the break to level up the match. The final set saw both players holding serve, and eventually, a tiebreak followed.  The breaker was close, but Watson managed to get the break and move into the next round 3-6, 7-5, 7-6(5).

In the semi-final Watson was against sixth seed Lea Boskovic. The Croatian stayed with the Brit at the start, but Watson was able to get the break of serve to move into the lead. The second set saw Boskovic play better and force a tiebreak. The top seed got the mini break needed in the breaker and took the match 6-4, 7-6(4).

The final saw Watson against fourth seed Marie Benoit. The Brit started better and broke the Belgian to take the lead. The second set saw Benoit re-group and start a fightback. The Belgian managed to break the serve of Watson in the second set and level up the match. The final set saw Benoit dominate Watson, who struggled to hold serve. Benoit claimed the title 3-6, 6-4, 6-1.

The match tiebreak saw the Brits re-group and ease through into the next round 7-6(7), 1-6, 10-4.

The quarter-final saw the Brits against the second seeds Michaela Bayerlova & Jacqueline Cabaj Awad. McDonald & Lumsden dominated the first set as the Czech/Swede struggled on serve. Eventually, a tiebreak ensued. In the breaker the Brits dominated to move into the final in straight sets 6-2, 7-6(1).
