HERSONISSOS, GREECE – Mark Whitehouse teamed up with Juan Carlos Prado Angelo and were alternates into the main draw. The Brit/Bolivian claimed the title and defeated the third seeds en route.

Mark Whitehouse and Juan Carlos Prado Angelo teamed up for the doubles event at the ATP Challenger in Greece. The pair were unseeded and only made the main draw as alternates. Their first round match was against the third seeds Anthony Genov & Szymon Kielan. The seeds got off to the better start, breaking early and taking the lead. The second set saw the Brit/Bolivian re-group and break the serve of Genov & Kielan to level up the match. The final set was a match tiebreak. This was very close, but the Brit/Bolivian edged through to book a spot in the next round 3-6, 6-3, 10-7.

In the quarter-final the pair were against Stefanos Sakellaridis & Petros Tsitisipas. The Brit/Bolivian dominated the first set and took the lead. The second set saw Greek pair fight back and break serve to level up the match. In the ensuing match tiebreak it was Whitehouse & Prado Angelo who edged through into the next round 6-2, 3-6, 10-7.

The semi-final saw the Brit/Bolivian against Arthur Gea & Ergi Kirkin. The French/Turkish pair stayed with Whitehouse & Prado Angelo, forcing a tiebreak. In the breaker the Brit/Bolivian dominated and took the lead. The second set was a little easier for Whitehouse & Prado Angelo, who dominated to move into the final 7-6(1), 6-2.

In the final the Brit/Bolivian were against Dennis Novak & Zsombor Piros. The Austrian/Hungarian pair stayed with Whitehouse & Prado Angelo and forced a tiebreak. In the breaker the Brit/Bolivian edged through and took the lead. The second set was dominated by the Brit/Bolivian who lifted the title in straight sets 7-6(7), 6-2.

 

 

Doubles Round Up

Marcus Willis with Szymon Walkow were defeated by Ivan Liutarevich & Mick Veldheer in the first round in Thionville 6-3, 6-4.

Tom Hands & Harry Wendelken were defeated by Patrick Kaukovalta & Johannes Seeman in the first round in Quinta do Lago 7-6(8), 6-7(5), 11-9.

James Wilkinson with Dino Molokova Ferreira were defeated by Diogo Marques & Tiago Pereira in the first round in Quinta do Lago 6-2, 6-2.

Finn Bass with Pedro Araujo were defeated by Henrik Bladelius & Lukas Hellum Lilleengen in the quarter-final in Quinta do Lago 6-4, 6-4.

Alicia Barnett with Elixane Lechemia were defeated by Francisca Jorge & Matilde Jorge in the quarter-final in Porto 4-6, 7-6(3), 11-9.

Ben Jones with David Poljak defeated Mats Rosenkrantz & Niklas Schell in the final in Trimbach 7-5, 6-4.

Aidan McHugh with Sathy Reddy Chirala were defeated by Garrett Johns & Ivan Marrero Curbeio in the first round in Huamantla 6-7(7), 6-2, 10-4.

Stefan Cooper with Alvin Tudorica were defeated by Garrett Johns & Ivan Marrero Curbeio in the semi-final in Huamantla 7-6(4), 6-4.

Hamish Stewart with Eero Vasa defeated Axel Garcian & Tristan Lamasine in the final in Poitiers 7-5, 7-6(3).

James Markiewicz with Vesa Ahti were defeated by Bruno Navarro & Billy Suarez in the first round in Torello 3-6, 6-4, 12-10.

Danny Flynn with George Gregoriou were defeated by Seydina Andre & Akram El Sallaly in the first round in Sharm-El-Sheikh 6-3, 6-2.

Luke Hopper & Toby Martin were defeated by Illya Beloborodko & Saba Purtseladze in the quarter-final in Sharm-El-Sheikh 6-3, 7-5.

Ewen Lumsden with Giovanni Oradini were defeated by Leonardo Cattaneo & Vadym Ursu in the quarter-final in Sharm-El-Sheikh 6-3, 6-2.

Victoria Allen with Gina Dittmann were defeated by Ines Murta & Franziska Sziedat in the quarter-final in Sharm-El-Shiekh 3-6, 6-2, 10-7.

Freya Christie with Anna Rogers were defeated by Isabelle Haverlag & Elena Pridankina in the first round in Trnava 6-4, 6-2.

Amelia Rajecki & Ranah Stoiber were defeated by Sofia Costoulas & Mariana Drazic in the first round in Helsinki 6-3, 6-1.

Yuriko Miyazaki with Francesca Curni were defeated by Ida Johansson & Jacqueline Nylander Altelius in the first round in Helsinki 6-3, 7-6(5).

Ella McDonald with Laura Hietaranta defeated Ayla Aksu & Martyna Kubka in the final in Helsinki 6-3, 6-4.

Georgina Hays with Jordyn McBride were defeated by Esther Adeshina & Julia Adams in the quarter-final in Monastir 6-3, 6-3.

Esther Adeshina with Julia Adams were defeated by Andre Lukosiute & Luisa Mayer auf der Heide in the semi-final in Helsink 6-1, 7-5.
