Tennis | Doubles Round-up | Tara Moore makes doubles semi-final of ITF Guadeloupe

PETIT-BOURG, GUADELOUPE – Tara Moore & Emina Bektas entered the ITF event and were second seeds. The Brit/American pairing made the semi-final.

Tara Moore teamed up with Emina Bektas and entered the doubles event in Guadeloupe and were the second seeds. In the first round the seeds were up against Lou Brouleau & Magali Kempen. The French/Belgian pair withdrew before a ball was even hit meaning the seeds progressed to the quarter-final 0-0 RET.

In the quarter-final the seeds were up against Verena Meliss & Eléonora Molinaro. The Italian/Luxembourg pairing tried to stay with the Brit/American, however Moore & Bektas secured the break of serve and moved ahead. The second set saw Meliss & Molinaro fought back broke the second seeds serve to level up the match. In the ensuring match tie break the seeds dominated and moved into the semi-final 6-4, 5-7, 10-2.

The semi-final saw Moore & Bektas up against Mylène Halemai & Manon Leonard. The French pair battled hard in the first set and secured a late break of serve to take the lead. In the second set the seeds fought back and dominated to level up. Once again a match tiebreak was required to decide the finalists. Unfortunately for Moore & Bektas it was Halemai & Leonard who edged the win 7-5, 2-6, 70-7.

Doubles Round Up

Luke Johnson with Marat Deviatiarov were defeated by Jacopo Berrettini & Enrico Dalla Valle in the first round in Tunisia 4-6, 6-2, 10-8.

Emily Morton & Katie Morton were defeated by Yulia Hatouka & Tereza Mihalíková in the semi-final in Tunisia 6-1, 6-1.

Jonathan Binding & Scott Duncan were defeated by Johannes Haerteis & Peter Heller in the first round in Germany 7-6(4), 4-6, 10-7.

Evan Hoyt with Edan Leshem were defeated by Ryan Nijboer & Glenn Smits in the quarter-final in Germany 6-4, 6-2.

David Fox & Mark Whitehouse were defeated by Mateus Alves & Genaro Oliveira in the first round in Mexico 7-6(3), 4-6, 10-8.

Emily Appleton with Justina Mikulskytė were defeated by Mayuka Aikawa & Utaka Kishigami in the first round in Mexico 6-4, 6-4.

Anna Popescu with Isabelle Haverlag were defeated by Weronika Falkowska & Martyna Kubka in the semi-final in Latvia 7-6(2), 6-1.

Dom Inglot with Aisam-ul-Haq Qureshi were defeated by Jean-Julien Rojer & Horia Tecău in the first round in the Australian Open 6-1, 3-6, 6-2.

Luke Bambridge with Ben McLachlan were defeated by Mate Pavic & Bruno Soares in the first round in the Australian Open 7-6(4), 7-5.

Dan Evans with John-Patrick Smith were defeated by Joe Salisbury & Rajeev Ram in the first round in the Australian Open 6-1, 7-6(3).

Joe Salisbury with Desirae Krawczyk were defeated by Neal Skupski & Hsieh Su-Wei in the first round in the Australian Open 7-6(5), 5-7, 10-5.

Jamie Murray & Neal Skupski were defeated by Steve Johnson & Sam Querrey were in the second round in the Australian Open 4-6, 7-6(5), 7-6(12).

Next week Brits play in Australian Open, Newport Beach, Burnie, France, Tunisia, Mexico, Thaliand, Australia & Spain.
