EASTBOURNE, UK – Joe Salisbury & Rajeev Ram were the second seeds in the ATP event. The Brit/American were the second seeds and made the semi-final.

Joe Salisbury & Rajeev Ram were the second seeds in Eastbourne. In the first round the Brit/American pair were against Miguel Angel Reyes-Varela & Robert Galloway. The seeds started well and broke early in the first set to take the lead. The Mexican/American fought back in the second set and forced a tiebreak. The unseeded pair edged the breaker to level the match. The match tiebreak was very close and it was Salisbury & Ram that edged through to the next round 6-3, 7-6(8), 13-11.

The quarter-final saw the second seeds were against Sam Weissborn & Romain Arneodo. The seeds dominated from the outset, and lost only three games. No matter what Weissborn & Arneodo tried, they were unable to get into the match. The seeds moved through in straight sets 6-1, 6-2.

In the semi-final the second seeds were against the fourth seeds Nikola Mektic & Mate Pavic. The Croatians dominated from the outset. No matter how hard Salisbury & Ram tried, they were unable to break the serve of the fourth seeds. Naktic & Pavic lifted the title 6-2, 6-2.

 

 

Doubles Round Up

Julian Cash & Luke Johnson were defeated by Jonny O’Mara & Liam Broady in the first round in Eastbourne 6-4, 7-6(8).

Jamie Murray with Michael Venus were defeated by Nikola Mektic & Mate Pavic in the first round 7-6(5), 6-4.

Lloyd Glasspool & Nicolas Mahut were defeated by Sam Weissborn & Romain Arneodo in the first round 6-4, 6-7(7), 11-9.

Heather Watson & Harriet Dart were defeated by Yang Zhaoxuan & Luisa Stefani in the first round in Eastbourne 7-8 (RET).

Jonny O’Mara & Liam Broady were defeated by Austin Krajicek & Ivan Dodig in the quarter-final in Eastbourne 6-4, 6-4.

Emlie Hudd with Demetris Azoides were defeated by Thomas Fancutt & Kris Van Wyck in the quarter-final in Netanya 6-4, 6-4.

Ameilia Bissett with Jordan Fenton were defeated by Aglaya Fedorova & Lisa Mays in the quarter-final in Monastir 6-4, 6-3.

Ewen Lumsden with Adam Nagoudi were defeated by Wissam Adberrahman & Valentin De Carvalho in the first round in Monastir 6-1, 3-6, 10-7.

Andreas Scott with Patrick Kotan were defeated by Ewan Moore & Hamish Stewart in the first round in Monastir 6-4, 7-5.

Luc Keonig with Martin Breysach were defeated by Johannes Seeman & Slim Troost in the quarter-final in Monastir 6-3, 4-6, 10-7.

Ewan Moore & Hamish Stewart were defeated by Fabio Coelho & Aziz Ouakaa in the semi-final in Monastir 4-6, 6-3, 10-4.

Next week Brits play at Wimbledon, in France, Italy, Spain, USA, Tunisia, Portugal, & Switzerland.
