MIAMI, FLORIDA, USA – Joe Salisbury and Rajeev Ram entered the Miami Open and were the third seeds. The Brit/American made the quarter-final before being defeated.

Joe Salisbury and Rajeev Ram were the third seeds at the Miami Open. The Brit/American drew Casper Ruud & William Blumberg in the first round. The Norwegian/American pair stayed close to the seeds in the first set, forcing a tiebreak. In the breaker Salisbury & Ram edged through and took the lead. The second set saw the seeds secure a break of serve and move into the next round 7-6(5), 6-4.

The second round saw the Brit/American against Stefanos Tsitsipas & Thansi Kokkinakis. The Greek/Australian pair stayed close with the seeds. In the first set they went toe to toe and looked to be forcing a tiebreak, however, the seeds managed to break right at the end to take the lead. The second set, though, did go to a tiebreak after both pairs couldn’t get the advantage. In the breaker it was the seeds who eased through and into the next round 7-5, 7-6(4).

In the quarter-final the Brit/American were against seventh seeds Kevin Krawietz & Tim Putz. The Germans got off to the better start and broke serve of the third seeds to take the lead. The second set was much more even, with neither pair getting the vital break of serve and so a tiebreak ensued. In the breaker the Brit/American pair edged ahead and levelled up the match. In the match tiebreak, it was the Germans who edged through to take the win 6-3, 6-7(5), 10-7.

Meanwhile Lloyd Glasspool & Jean-Julien Rojer were unseeded. Their first round opponents were Adrian Mannarino & Fabrice Martin. The Brit/Dutch pair broke the Frenchmen in the first set and took the lead. The second set, though, was much closer. Mannarino & Martin went toe to toe and forced a tiebreak. In the breaker it was Glasspool & Rojer that edged through and took the win 6-3, 7-6(8).

In the second round the Brit/Dutch pair were against Nathaniel Lammons & Jackson Withrow. The Americans went toe to toe with Glasspool & Rojer and forced a tiebreak. The Brit/Dutch pair eased through that and into the lead. The second set saw Glasspool & Rojer break serve and move into the next round in straight sets 7-6(4), 6-4.

The quarter-final saw Glasspool & Rojer against fourth seeds Marcel Granollers & Horacio Zeballos. The Brit/Dutch stayed with the seeds and forced a first set tiebreak. In the breaker Granollers & Zeballos eased through and took the lead. The second set saw Glasspool & Rojer break serve and level up the match. The ensuing match tiebreak was very close. Unfortunately, it was the seeds that edged through and took the match 7-6(4), 3-6, 12-10.

Doubles Round Up

Julian Cash with Tallon Griekspoor were defeated by Andy Murray & Sebastian Korda in the first round in Miami 7-5, 6-4.

Neal Skupski with Santiago Gonzalez were defeated by Marcelo Melo & Edouard Roger-Vasselin in the first round in Miami 6-4, 6-4.

Heather Watson with Tereza Mihalikova were defeated by Sara Errani & Jasmine Paolini in the first round in Miami 6-3, 3-6, 10-5.

Andy Murray with Sebastian Korda were defeated by Kevin Krawietz & Tim Puetz in the second round in Miami 0-0 (RET).

Luke Johnson with Skander Mansouri were defeated by Antoine Bellier & Marc-Andrea Huesler in the first round in San Luis Potosi 6-4, 6-3.

Joshua Paris with Christian Harrison were defeated by Mac Kiger & Benjamin Sigouin in the first round in San Luis Potosi 7-6(3), 7-6(3).

Francesca Jones with Nadia Podoroska were defeated by Anna Bondar & Tamara Zidansek in the semi-final in San Luis Potosi 0-0 (RET).

Henry Patten with Francisco Cabral were defeated by Albano Olivetti & Johnathan Eysseric in the semi-final in Girona 6-7(4), 7-6(2), 10-6.

James Markiewicz with Jannik Opitz were defeated by Stefan Cooper & Antoine Berger in the first round in Saint Dizier 6-7(2), 6-4, 10-6.

Stefan Cooper with Antoine Berger were defeated by Alec Beckley & Raphael Calzi in the quarter-final in Saint Dizier 6-2, 6-1.

Sarah Beth Grey & Eden Silva were defeated by Carmen Corley & Ivana Corley in the quarter-final in Croissy-Beaubourg 6-4, 6-3.

Emily Appleton with Isabelle Haverlag were defeated by Estelle Cascino & Alexandra Eala in the quarter-final in Croissy-Beaubourg 6-4, 6-0.
