ROME, ITALY – Joe Salisbury with Rajeev Ram entered the Rome Masters and were the third seeds. The Brit/American pair made the quarter-final.

Joe Salisbury with Rajeev Ram were the third seeds in Rome. In the first round the Brit/American were against Sebastian Korda & Jordan Thompson. The unsseded American/Australian pair surprised the seeds and broke in the first set to take the lead. The second set saw the seeds re-group. Salisbury & Ram dominated the set and levelled up. In the ensuing match tiebreak, it was the seeds who edged through and into the next round 4-6, 6-2, 10-8.

In the second round the seeds were against Jamie Murray & Michael Venus. The first set was very close, as the Brit/Kiwi fought hard to stay with the Brit/American. Eventually, the seeds broke serve and took the lead. The second set saw Salisbury & Ram dominate and move into the next round 7-5, 6-2.

The quarter-final saw Salisbury & Ram against Marcelo Arevalo & Mate Pavic. The Spaniard/Croatian pair played very well and broke serve in the first set to take the lead. The second set was more of the same, no matter what the seeds tried, Arevalo & Pavic were equal to it. Eventually, the Spaniard/Croat broke serve and moved into the next round 6-4, 6-4.

 

 

Doubles Round Up

Henry Patten with Harri Heliovaara were defeated by Marcel Granollers & Horacio Zeballos in the first round in Rome 6-1, 7-6(3).

Neal Skupski with Austin Krajicek were defeated by Marcelo Melo & Alexander Zverev in the first round in Rome 7-6(0), 6-7(5), 11-9.

Lloyd Glasspool with Jean-Julien Rojer were defeated by Jamie Murray & Michael Venus in the first round in Rome 6-4, 6-3.

Heather Watson with Yifan Xu were defeated by Xinyu Wang & Saisai Zheng in the first round in Rome 6-3, 1-6, 10-8.

Lloyd Glasspool with Jean Julien Rojer were defeated by Nicolas Barrientos & Francisco Cabral in the first round in Bordeaux 3-0 (RET).

Luke Johnson with Skander Mansouri were defeated by Sadio Doumbia & John Peers in the quarter-final in Bordeaux 5-7, 6-4, 10-5.

Julian Cash with Robert Galloway defeated Quentin Halys & Nicolas Mahut in the final in Bordeaux 6-3, 7-6(2).

Ben Jones & Scott Duncan were defeated by Michael Vrbensky & Patrik Riki in the first round in Tunis 6-2, 6-2.

Oliver Crawford with Nicholas Bybel were defeated by Damir Dzumhur & Matej Sabanov in the quarter-final in Tunis 0-0 (RET).

Marcus Willis with Federico Gomez defeated Michael Vrbensky & Patrik Riki in the final in Tunis 4-6, 6-1, 10-6.

Joshua Paris & Arthur Fery were defeated by Nam Ji-Sung & Ho Ray in the first round in Taipei 7-5, 2-6, 10-2.

Jay Clarke with Kai Wehnelt defeated Andrea Arnaboldi & Federico Arnaboldi in the final in Reggio Emilia 5-7, 6-2, 10-8.

Danielle Daly & Summer Yardley were defeated by Silvia Alejo & Andrea Palazon in the first round in Monzon 6-3, 0-6, 10-8.

Maia Lumsden with Despina Papamichall were defeated by Destenee Alava & Eleni Christofi in the quarter-final in Madrid 5-7, 7-5, 10-7.

Samantha Murray Sharan & Eden Silva were defeated by Andrea Gamiz & Eva Vedder in the semi-final in Madrid 6-4, 6-3.
